Description

The Biro Yorkshire Terrier, like the Biewer Terrier, was developed from the Yorkshire Terrier. They retain some of the characteristics of their ancestors, such as the strong but compact body and the upright tail. The head is quite small, with upright ears, and medium-sized eyes (normally dark). The nose is always brown. The forelegs and hind legs are straight, the back is low, and under all the silky fur, the body suggests a tough, hardy dog.

Look

A Biro Yorkshire Terrier is almost identical to a Biewer Terrier. The main difference is that the Biro Yorkie has a lot of dark chocolate colour on a white background. Both these breeds are descended from the Yorkshire Terrier. The Biro Terrier’s legs, chest, and belly are always white, covered in brown patches, though the patches on the head should be golden brown.

Other than that, the Biro is very similar to the Yorkshire Terrier and the Biewer Terrier. These breeds have long, soft hair that sheds infrequently. The Biro is also considered to be a hypoallergenic dog breed, as when these dogs shed, the loose hair usually falls into the coat rather than on the ground.

Health

While the Biro Yorkshire Terrier is generally a healthy dog, they are prone to a few health conditions:

Learning

The Biro Yorkshire Terrier is an intelligent dog. With firm but consistent training, they can learn a wide variety of commands and tricks surprisingly quickly. Temperament

These clever dogs are very playful, and can even be a little mischievous from time to time! Although occasionally naughty, the Biro Yorkshire Terrier is a very affectionate and friendly dog. They get on well with just about everyone, though if not socialised properly they can become over-protective of their humans.

Living with

The Biro Yorkshire Terrier is no lazy lapdog. They retain the same energetic nature as their Yorkshire Terrier ancestors, and thus need plenty of time devoted to play and exercise. A Biro Terrier should be walked at least once a day, and they will appreciate playing fetch or catch too! They are very affectionate and are great pets for families with children.
